Public Pools and Water Attractions in Wood County are inspected annually for physical
safety, water quality and chemistry. In 2008 a new pool code went into effect as a result of the broader variety of water
recreation facilities and chemical and safety requirements. All operators in Wood
County were contacted and offered to attend a free informational forum. By December 19, 2008 all public pool owners/operators must comply
with the Virginia
Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act. This information was provided
to operators in Wood County. The act addresses the elimination and mitigation of
pool & spa drain entrapment hazards.
